The Yamnaya culture was a significant group of nomadic herders from the Pontic-Caspian steppe around 3300–2600 BCE. This ancestry has been found to contribute to the genetic makeup of many modern populations with estimates showing that nearly half of modern Europeans can trace their ancestry back to Yamnaya males. This course will explore their origin, genetics, culture and how they quickly spread their genes, language and culture across much of Europe, North America and South Asia.
