A continuation of last terms class, for each course we will read and discuss one selected novella. The short novels for this term will be (in order): The Dead by James Joyce, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark, Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, and The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain. Subject to change if the class so decides.. Although all are easy, quick reads, each illuminates and crystallizes those shadowy thoughts and feelings we struggle to put words to - this is what literature does
