A little more than 50 years ago the first personal computers were introduced. Development of PCs followed two parallel paths. The first course described the earliest path began with foundational computer inventions in the 1970s at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), which was funded by Xerox. The second course in the series described the second path that started with the Apple II and then the IBM PC, and its clones. This final course will describe how the two paths converged in 1981 after Steve Jobs (Apple) and Bill Gates (Microsoft) saw the Xerox Star. YouTube videos will tell the stories supplemented with Bob sharing his experience Bob with each of these paths.
