Science is a way of knowing. There is skepticism about science today so perhaps it would be useful to talk about the nature of science and how scientists come to conclusions. We will examine the considerations a scientist had to deal with when planning and determining the results of a real but simple research project. Few non-scientists ever see an actual published research paper so you will be given a copy of the journal, Science. We will walk through a published scientific report. You will be able to keep the copy and spend time reading the other parts of the journal that deal with research issues and public policy.
