This is the third of a series of courses on the run up to the First World War, the war itself, and then the aftermath. In this series we will look in more detail at the 25 year period leading up to 1914. Using lectures from The Great Courses and YouTube, this course will focus on the smaller wars that occurred during this 25 years and their impact on the main event. These smaller wars include the Spanish American War, the Boer Wars, the Russo-Japanese War, and the wars between the Ottoman Empire and Italy and the small Balkan nations.
