In this course we will view and discuss movies involving the CIA. This course was requested by students who attended the history of the CIA courses earlier this year, but registrants for this course do not have to have attended the earlier CIA classes to attend this one and enjoy it. We will focus more on the CIA and spy aspects of these works and not as much on the acting and filmmaking etc like the Monday afternoon film class does. Popcorn and other goodies will be present. The third picture the series is Charlie Wilson's War, also based on a true story around the Soviets in Afghanistan, starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and garnering a 2008 best supporting actor nomination for Philip Seymour Hoffman. The fourth film is The Good Shepherd starring Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Robert De Niro. This movie is about the early history of the CIA and had a 2007 Best Art Direction Oscar nomination.
