With lectures from The Great Courses in chronological order starting with the first book published in America in 1640 to current authors such as John Grisham and Stephen King, we will explore best sellers that include banned books, biographies and blockbusters. Each week will concentrate on a specific book, with supplemental material on the author, historical events or locale. Join us as we reflect on why each book was so popular and how it shaped America’s culture, norms and values. Of course refreshments will be available in the classroom.
