This four-week course will explore the lives and music of three of the greatest composers known to history: Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, as well as their predecessors who made up the ~Mannheim School~. Attendees will learn about the musically-rich traditions of the city of Vienna, where Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven spent much of their careers. The course will include a lecture component, presented by Dr. Sarah Satterfield, as well as a screening of portions of “The Great Courses” DVDs devoted to these composers.
