It is important to become proficient at basic drawing techniques introduced in Part 1, the rudimentary skills learned in each lesson and project. Part 2 drawing session will expand the fundamentals learned in Part 1; adding methods and techniques for creating even flat tones, continuous graduation and blending. Prerequisite: Not required; however, a working knowledge of basic and complex shapes, one-point perspective, controlling basic line strokes, contour-lines, shading, creating tonal values and texture with lines, is useful.
Materials: 18 x 24 Rough texture newsprint paper pad for quick gesture drawing, 8.5 x 11 copy paper for practice, 9 x 12 pad or larger charcoal paper or similar toothy paper (for finished work), vine charcoal sticks, flat charcoal sticks, “B” (2B – 6B soft range) wood encased charcoal pencils, kneaded eraser, fixative spray. Optional materials: ruler, small soft bristle paint brush/ paper stomp (for blending), chamois (or soft cloth),
