This course is the last of a series of 4 courses that provide an overview of epic failures of engineered structures or systems that taught lessons engineers needed to learn in future projects. It is based primarily on Professor Stephen Ressler’s lectures from his course Epic Engineering Failures and the Lessons They Teach. Professor Stephen Ressler’s lectures will be supplemented with videos from the internet. The class on crane failures will be based on Bob’s experience as a professional nuclear and mechanical engineer for a crane manufacturer and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
