We will read two greats of American literature, on Nov 28 Nobel Prize laureate William Faulkners short story A Rose for Emily. On Dec 5 Nobel prize winner John Steinbecks novella Of Mice and Men. Faulkner is considered one of our greatest writers of southern literature. Steinbecks stories are centered around Monterey but there is a universality in his love of the soil, his championing of the common man and his identifying with, and defense of the underdog.
