Most music and art history textbooks stop their coverage in the late 1900s, with writers being unwilling or unable to predict what of music and art of today will be considered significant as the 21st Century progresses. This course explores music and art of the era we are currently living in, from neoclassic movements that look to the past to avant garde movements that look ahead to the future. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about pioneering artists and musicians who are still alive and active today, and look at and listen to examples of their work.
