The Post-Cold War world order of US predominance is ending, and a new world order is emerging. We may call this a new world (De) Order to reflect major trends of de-population, de-democratization, de-carbonization, and de-globalization. The Post-Cold War years of "more", an unprecedented period of global peace and prosperity, is being transformed by rising US-China conflict, repercussions of Covid-19 pandemic, Russias invasion of Ukraine, growing political polarization and democratization within and among nations, a dramatic drop in population growth, and climate change. This class will discuss this emerging global (de) order and the major geopolitical changes underway.
