Most people think of the Middle East as just conflict and politics, but this area has a rich history and culture of art, music and unique customs. This course, one of her Off the Beaten Path series,will include topics ranging from belly dancing to beheadings, from multiple marriages to rights of women, from tribal rug weaving to artistic religious calligraphy. Donna Robinson will do a comparative analysis of the complexity and beauty of this ancient land. She and her husband worked there for over three years and were able to visit many of these areas.
