This course will review methods being used today to enhance human performance. It will look at new and proposed medical procedures and technological ways to allow people to improve their quality of life through enhancements. These include methods for increasing visual acuity, hearing, physical strength, memory and other cognitive skills. We will pay particular attention to people who today have disabilities that can be aided by various forms of augmentation. We will examine the ethics of human augmentation tactics and implications for the future of humanity.
