The purpose of this class is to overview the economic and political history of 1900-1950. Despite the catastrophes of World War I, the Great Depression and World War II, our ancestors persevered and created the foundations for the American Century of post WW II. During this half century, America transformed from farm to factory, from muscle to mechanical power, and from isolation to hegemon. Lectures will be presented live via Zoom with up to a half hour afterwards reserved for further discussion. Presentations will be emailed in advance and posted on coffeynotes.com.
Students who are not able to, or prefer not to participate online, can view him on the big screen in the classroom and ask questions along with those who are online. See SeniorLearners.org for current recommendations about wearing masks in the classroom.
