Generating, transporting and securing of information are central to every aspect of our daily lives in the 21st Century. This course is the second and last courses about the theoretical underpinnings of these processes. It is based in part on lectures from one of The Great Courses by Professor Benjamin Schumacher: The Science of Information: From Language to Black Holes. In this course we will focus on how information is stored, replicated and transported in living organisms. It turns out that DNA has been demonstrated to be a far more efficient medium for storing digital information than any conventional storage technology.
