The Huns were preceded by several militarized confederations of pastoral steppe nomads. Atilla the Hun successfully united the Hun tribes and led them in the conquest of the lands across the frontiers of the Roman Empire. The European Steppe Nomads courses are based on key lectures from 65 in several of The Great Courses. These courses also include online videos and materials for home study. Attendance at all courses in the series is desirable, but new students can join any course in the series.
