The Craft of Drawing/Functions of Design and Layout Session is developed as a logical progression focusing on the principles of establishing unity, balance and creating a focal point. We will work with dividing the picture plane to use the entire space to the best advantage, exploring ways to create a center of interest. This session will introduce using thumbnail drawings to develop value studies as a way to compose your drawing. Get ready for One-Point Perspective. Materials: Sketch paper, or copy paper, or news print; graphite pencil or charcoal pencil – eraser optional.
