It is important to become proficient at basic drawing techniques, the rudimentary skills that will be applied time and time again. This course was developed to guide seasoned participants and beginners, as a fast-paced illustration drawing course that works to expand the fundamentals learned in The Craft of Drawing beyond the Basics, by adding methods for mixed media even-shading blending, to soften the transitions between light, mid and dark tonal values, and the line and shading techniques of your choice to achieve the results you want when creating your finished works of art.

Participants will explore different mediums, and methods of transferring (grid, tracing transfer, projection) their outline sketches to the final drawing surface and good erasing techniques. Bring your personality, style, and goals to what you will learn while exploring Mastering the Craft of Drawing exercises. Participants should have a working knowledge of basic and complex shapes, one-point perspective, controlling basic line strokes, contour-lines, shading, creating tonal values and texture with line, composition and layout, and shading will enhance the fundamental drawing foundation while expanding upon the basics.
