Join us in viewing and discussing the musicals that influenced the joyous film, La La Land. We will be watching Top Hat starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Singin’ in the Rain with Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor, Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg starring Catherine Deneuve. Our last film of the series will be La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and we will discuss how and where the previous films’ influence was shown. Popcorn will be provided to enhance the viewing experience.
