This class will be a weekly lecture on past prominent people in US and world history. To qualify to be a discussion topic the person must have been deceased for at least 13 years to avoid political debates in the class. (The instructor is well known for keeping his political views to himself and he expects his students to do the same.) The people whose lives we discuss will be chosen by my students in January 2018 and the names announced at a later date. The list of people up for discussion will not be limited to only past world leaders, but may include scientists, famous women, military leaders, famous actors, not-so-famous actors, i.e., William Bendix and Margaret Dumont, authors, etc. Class participation in the discussions and student questions are encouraged, but are not a requirement.
