We will study several of the world’s great religious traditions. Our goal will be to become reasonably conversant with the vocabulary and primary attributes of each of these traditions; how they may be unique, as well as, what they hold in common (such as golden and silver rules); the role of spiritual experience and after-life beliefs; and the tension between exclusivity and interfaith cooperation. Although we will have to limit our scope in this short survey course, we plan to touch on the basic principles of: A. Ancient Indigenous and Mystery traditions B. The Hindu and Buddhist traditions. C. The three Abrahamic traditions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam
