Eighty years of discoveries of troves of ancient texts, archeological digs, and scholarship have revealed a much different picture of the inhabitation of the Holy Land (the Levant in antiquity) than described in the Hebrew Torah and the Christian Old Testament. This course is based on lectures from the Great Courses and PBS videos. They will cover the period from the Late Stone Age through the period of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
